For the past few years St Lukes Church and the Villagers of Kislingbury have developed a very successful "Annual Plant and Open Gardens day" as a major fund raising event for the church in the village which attracts increasing numbers of visitors from many parts of the UK
For 2003 the scope of this event is being extended to include the children from the village in a number of special activities and events on the day.
The programme is varied and will appeal to a wide range of interests. It includes:-
- Plant Fair - Enjoy browsing around the many STALLS with a wide selection of interesting plants for sale.
- Open Gardens - A number located in this traditional Northamptonshire village will be open during the day
- Other Stalls - These include:- Plant Tombola; Indian Head Massage; Cakes; Books; Woodturning Display; Bee Keeping; Cake Decoration Skills; Local Artists Picture Raffle; Village Soap Manufacture; Artificial Flower Display
- Competitions - in the Church and local school
- Village Brewery - Tasting sessions of locally brewed beer
- Refreshments: Lunchtime - Ploughman's in the Church; Afternoon - "Cream teas on the main Green"
- Young Peoples events - Exhibition of Childrens flower painting competition and characters made out of vegetables
- Country dancing by KISLINGBURY Junior school pupils
- Performance by BUGBROOKE YOUTH community band
The village welcomes you to visit the PLANT FAIR &"OPEN GARDENS" with many additional attractions which we are sure you will enjoy as you walk around our traditional Northamptonshire village.
